Will you survive the Attack on Titan VR game coming this month?

Announced over a year ago during a Meta Quest presentation, the virtual reality adaptation of The attack of the Titans is ready to go out. Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable will be available in early access from July 23 and will be compatible with Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro headsets. A preferential rate of only €4.99 will be offered to players ready to try the early access. The price will increase over the course of content updates. If we are to believe the new trailer, players will have to have strong hearts to survive this experience. Taking control of the famous three-dimensional equipment is not going to be easy: enough to shake up the new virtual recruits of the Exploration Battle.

A simple but confusing experience

For many, playing in VR can be a source of nausea, especially when movements that are too fluid generate confusion between the brain and the inner ear. Many titles thus offer travel via teleportation in order to limit the effect of motion sickness. But in the case of Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakablethere can be no such adjustments. The gameplay is directly inspired by the fight scenes of the anime, in which humans have no choice but to fly using grappling hooks to reach the weak point of the terrible titans.

Many fans have dreamed of experiencing the sensations provided by the three-dimensional equipment. But in virtual reality, the experience could quickly become uncomfortable. For the moment, the content of the title is not conducive to long gaming sessions anyway. The trailer description indicates that players will be able to join the Survey Corps and help defend the human race against the onslaught of Titans who have breached Wall Maria. Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable will benefit for the moment only from this single card, on which it will be possible to fill in “timed objectives like defending outposts, securing supply drops to aid your fellow fighters, and destroying Titans as the difficulty increases.

Remember that this is only early access, and future modes and maps should appear with new updates. The roadmap available on the official website indicates that the game will benefit from additional chapters and a co-op mode by the end of the year. But since the base title has already suffered some delays, the wait may be longer.
