Vision Pro: Mark Zuckerberg tells his 4 truths about Apple, do you agree?

Following the launch of the Vision Pro by Apple, Mark Zuckerberg tested the device and has just published a video in which he violently clashes with his competitor. According to him, the Quest 3 is not only cheaper than the VP: it is simply a better product! Find out why…

On February 2, 2024, Apple launched its Vision Pro space computer in the United States. Since then, this mixed reality headset has generated phenomenal enthusiasm and videos of early users spread on the web in a viral way.

However, not everyone is delighted by this new high-end high-tech device. Among his detractors is a leading figure in virtual and augmented reality: Mark Zuckerberg.

The CEO of Meta, who made the bold choice of buy Oculus in 2014 for 2 billion of dollars, spoke without taking any gloves off regarding the Vision Pro via a video posted on Instagram.

He explains that he first thought that the Vision Pro would be a better productbut that his own helmet Quest 3 would offer better value for money.

After testing the Vision Pro, he explains that it “ not only think that the Quest has the best value for money, but that the Quest is the best product overall “.

The Quest 3, superior to the Vision Pro for 7 times less expensive?!

Very impactful, the video was also directly filmed via the “passthrough” system of the Quest 3 allowing you to see through the screen and mix the real with the virtual.

This is what allows Mark to openly criticize the sacrifices made by Apple so that the Vision Pro maintains aesthetics acceptable to the general public.

As he explains, the Quest 3 weighs 120 grams less and is therefore much more comfortable in the long term. L'lack of external battery connected by a cable also offers better freedom of movement.

Furthermore, this headset offers a wider field of vision than that of Apple. Another advantage that Quest: the possibility of using either the hand-tracking like on Vision Proor physical controllers.

He also believes that the Quest offers a more comprehensive immersive content library, which makes sense since the Vision was just released. Still, Zuck admits that Apple's headset is a better entertainment device.

However, it is difficult to ignore the last strong point of Quest 3: its price seven lower than the Vision Pro priced at 3500 dollars…

Meta retains mixed reality crown

At the end of his video, the CEO of Meta thanks his team which has been building VR headsets for many years. Subtextly, he seems to assert thatApple does not represent competition serious about its brand.

We can indeed expect that Meta stays ahead and dominates headset sales for a long time to come.

That being said, Zuckerberg fails to recognize thatApple enjoys a major advantage thanks to its ecosystem of developers and hardware. Ultimately, this could allow Apple to gain the upper hand, particularly with future generations of Vision which will be more compact, efficient and affordable…

And you, are you more tempted by the Vision Pro or the Quest 3? Do you own one of these headsets? What do you think are the most interesting use cases? Express yourself in comments!
