Twilight of the Gods: discover the bloody images of Zack Snyder's series
“Revenge, Blood, Sex and Dragons”this is how Netflix presents its new animated production. A few weeks after the release of Rebel Moon Director's Cut — which consists of six hours of interstellar brawls inspired by Seven Samurai — the director is now looking at the case of Nordic deities. It is through the animated series Twilight of Gods that Snyder intends to tell the adventures of Leif and Sigrid, a mortal king and a warrior with an iron will. He explained his approach through an article published on the site Netflix TUDUM.
“My imagination has always been sparked by the Norse gods… Thor, Odin, an adventure story about love, redemption and revenge set in this incredible landscape. It really made me want to get involved and get involved in this project.”
In this world inspired by mythology, two characters meet on the battlefield and fall in love. On their wedding night, they will face the wrath of Thor and be sent on a mission. Then begins a real journey to hell, made of bloody battles and cruel demons. As one might expect, this animated series will not be for everyone.
Adult entertainment
According to Netflix's press release: “Twilight of the Gods puts the adult in adult animation, as you can see from the 18+ trailer”. A few weeks after this release, Twilight of the Gods offers new, unpublished images. The platform wants to warn viewers, it does not do things by halves. It contains its share of hemoglobin, explicit sex scenes and flowery language.

A divine distribution?
In the original version, Zack Snyder summons Sylvia Hoeks and Stuart Martin to play the heroes Sigrid and Leif. Pilou Asbæk (Game of Thrones) will lend his voice to the God of Thunder. John Noble and Paterson Joseph complete the picture, respectively in the roles of Odin and Loki. Asbæk will not be the only actor from Game of Thrones to make a voice appearance, Kristofer Hivju will also be along for the ride. In addition, we can count on Peter Stormare, Jamie Chung, Lauren Cohan and Corey Stoll.
Behind the scenes, Zack Snyder is writing alongside Eric Carrasco and Jay Olivia. The latter also goes behind the camera, as does David Hartman. These are the studios The Stone Quarry (Snyder property) And Xilam Animation who are bringing this ambitious project to fruition. The French company, famous for the animated series Oggy and the Cockroacheshas the heavy responsibility of bringing to life this teeming universe which we hope will be just as exciting.
