The Batman 2: bad news for Pattinson's Dark Knight

It is one of the rare DC Studios films to have received unanimous approval. The Batman — previously promised for release in 2026 — is now scheduled for 2027 in theaters. Its name, inspired by a collection of comics, leaves Warner Bros free to develop alternative versions of iconic characters. In theory, Matt Reeves therefore has the freedom to summon all the characters he wants. This notably includes Clayface. The announcement of the development of a film dedicated to Gunn's DCU will therefore have no impact on The Batman II which must also involve the antagonist. On Threads, Gunn explained: “Clayface is in the DCU so it doesn’t matter.” Moreover, we can hope to find certain central characters in the first film. The series The Penguin has confirmed the importance of the antagonist for the lore, it is difficult to imagine that the HBO series (produced by Reeves) will not be exploited by the script of the film with Pattinson.
