Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown: here is the free update schedule for the first year, it's completely crazy!

After more than 13 years of absence, Test Drive Unlimited will be back with Solar Crown, the third opus that will have the difficult task of succeeding TDU (2006) and TDU 2 (2011). This new opus will be a multiplayer-only game, which will focus on the social aspect and promises many hours of gameplay to entertain drivers around the world. The goal of Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown is to be a service game, offering a large content at its launch and major updates every three months to extend the life of the game. Expected for September 12 (September 10 for players who pre-ordered the silver edition and September 5 for those who pre-ordered the Gold edition), the game warms up the engine by revealing the program of major updates to come during its first year.

Return to Ibiza and the Casino in Test Drive Unlimited

It's now official, the first year of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is shaping up to be pretty incredible. Starting September 12th, the game's release will officially kick off the first season of the Solar Crown. Every three months, a new season, bringing new content that will complete the gaming experience. Here's a little more detail on what's in store.

Season 01: September 12, 2024 – Game Launch and First Season

This first season will be the “lightest” with the launch of the Solar Crown, 60 pilot levels to reach, 50 clan levels to climb, unique rewards and the launch of the Solar Pass which is a free progression system, allowing you to unlock content, items and even an exclusive car for those who manage to complete the Pass thanks to the Solar Points that you will win throughout the races and events.

Season 02: December 24, 2024 – Return to Ibiza

For Christmas, KT Racing offers you to return to the lands of Test Drive Unlimited 2 with the return to Ibiza. The MAP will once again be on a 1:1 scale, however, unlike TDU 2, it will not be the entire island of Ibiza, but the city of Eivissa and its surroundings. This will allow for a new competition between the Streets and the Sharps with 20 new levels for the clans (allowing to have 70 levels), but also new rewards, new cars and exclusive cars for this season.

Season 03: March 25, 2025 – The War of the Clans

For the third season, the first of the year 2025, a clan war will break out between the Sharps and the Streets, in Hong Kong and Ibiza. No less than 30 new levels will be unlocked, bringing the total clan levels to 100, with a new Solar Pass, new items, new cars, etc.

Season 04: June 25, 2025 – The Return of the Casino

This was another very strong DLC ​​for TDU 2 and was greatly appreciated. The Casino will be back in Solar Crown for the summer, with 50 levels of progression, slots, poker, and cars to win. Again, there will be exclusive items, new cosmetics, and much more!

Even more to come in the second year

Of course, the KT Racing and Nacon teams don't have as much money as Eden Games and Atari did at the time of the first two TDUs. As such, many of the features that made the first two games successful are missing, including properties to buy and motorcycles.

On this point, KT Racing reassures all fans by confirming that these features are already in preparation and that it is indeed in the plans to arrive during the next updates.
