Captain America: Brave New World – a trailer that reveals a lot

With San Diego Comic Con fast approaching with Marvel back in the front row, Kevin Feige and his teams had to give us something to keep us busy while we wait for their big announcements. And what better way to do that than to call on their boy scout again in Captain America: Brave New World.

Except this time, the hero with the star-spangled banner is no longer America's sexiest butt, but Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), aka Falcon, who took up the shield at the end ofAvengers: Endgame and who learned to master it in the Disney+ series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Just like General Thaddeus Ross, who became President Ross and Han Solo (in short, Harrison Ford). A double change of actors (in part) which the film obviously enjoys since the trailer opens with a little joke about things not being the same anymore.

One of the last films of MCU Phase 5 unveils a first video that, in one minute, leaves little room for mystery. Harrison Ford has a leading role, the villains led by Giancarlo Esposito plot and terrorize, Wilson unsheathes his new costume between the classic Captain America and Iron Man, and if you stayed until the end, you even saw the famous Red Hulk whose presence fans strongly suspected without having confirmation. In short, while Marvel films are losing momentum at the box office, we feel in this opening of the promotional campaign the desire to send hard and quickly in order to create immediate expectation.

Captain America, The Winter Falcon

The trailer for Captain America: Brave New World is not to displease us as it is. We see that the emphasis has been placed on getting closer to the political thriller close to the film The Winter Soldier which remains one of the best in the MCU, with just the right amount of action and fan service to bring back old and new enthusiasts. A winning bet? We'll see you in theaters on February 12, 2025.

Captain America: Brave New World is directed by Julius Onah, whose first blockbuster this is. As for the story, it is still quite porous, despite some clues provided by the trailer. We should learn more at the San Diego Comic Con where the film will have a prominent place at the Marvel panel.
