Alien Earth: the series lives up to its title with its first teaser

Disney took over the Fox catalog in 2019, with the firm intention of exploiting the most famous licenses for the small and big screen. The big-eared company wants to bring back to the forefront universes such as Planet of the Apes (whose fourth installment was released this year), but also and above all Alien. The saga born under the impetus of Ridley Scott in 1979 offers itself a new appendix with Romulus directed by Fede Alvarez. While there were many fears at the release of this production, which evolved between the first two parts of the saga, the proposal from 20th Century Studios reassured viewers. The film was also a great success at the global box office with $285 million worldwide.

FX, a channel owned by Disney, is taking advantage of this spotlight on xenomorphs to give news of another project dedicated to them: Alien Earth. Noah Hawley's creation remains very mysterious, the channel is content to recall the existence of this project which should invest our screens soon. As a teaser, Alien Earth simply shows planet Earth from the sky and a roaring monster, it at least lives up to its title very well. While we'll have to wait a little longer to find out more, FX reaffirms its ambition to invade the world's screens in 2025.

Everything we know about Alien Earth

Under the leadership of Ridley Scott, Alien Earth was presented by the FX boss as a “great creative reinvention” of the Alien franchise. This is not the first time that Noah Hawley has undertaken such an exercise, the screenwriter and producer had already taken a monument of 90s cinema to transpose it into a series format. It is to him that we owe the series Fargowidely acclaimed by critics and the public. We can hope that the same respect for the original work and the same solidity of writing benefit this reinvention ofAlien.

History will adopt a new approach. After adventures on distant planets or cramped space shuttles, the mythical xenomorph invites itself to our blue planet to sow chaos. When a mysterious ship crashes on Earth, a young woman and a group of soldiers make a fateful discovery that brings them face to face with the greatest threat on the planet. Sydney Chandler (Pistol) will be at the epicenter of the story. The actress will play opposite Alex Lawther (The End of the Fuck*ng World) and Timothy Olyphant. Lily Newmark (A Gentleman in Moscow) and Kit Young (Shadow and Bone) will also be on the trip. See you in 2025 to see what this new production will be made of Alien.
